n. schlumberger design and make entire lines of textile machines dedicated to long-staple fibres.

From its historical wool activity to current technical fibres, n. schlumberger has been able to reinvent itself by adapting its catalogue to the various changes in the global textile market. Today, n. schlumberger’s machines are capable of handling both animal and vegetable fibres like wool, flax, cashmere, silk, alpaca, mohair etc. and synthetic fibres like acrylic, polyester or more technical fibres with aramids, carbon or even stainless steel.

Thanks to over 200 years of know-how, n. schlumberger has become a world leader in combing-recombing, spinning preparation, semi-worsted and tow to top units.

Over 800 customers in 60 countries all around the word trust the expertise and quality of n. schlumberger. Regular exchanges with its customers allow n. schlumberger to anticipate their needs and submit the best possible solution providing them with the best value for money.

Technical yarns

Converting lines (crush cutting or stretch breaking) for synthetics fibres like PAN, PVA, para- and meta-aramids, carbon fibres, glass fibres, HMPE, PTFE, metallic fibres etc.

Long-staple technical yarns have many advantages: high tenacity, excellent elasticity, resistance to fatigue or extreme temperatures. They can also be given with some shrinkage properties, that is why their use in high bulk yarns is highly appreciated. Because they are easy to blend, it makes it a good choice in manufacturing composites parts.

Examples of uses in end products are PPE (fire resistant, ballistics, chemical, against perforations or cuts etc.), reinforcements of parts in aeronautical and automotive industries (belts, tires, seals, filters) or in military and sport clothes. Furthermore, these technical fibres can be used pure or in blending.
